McMaster Public Engagement in Health Policy Community Fellowship
The Well CC is a 2023 Public Engagement in Health Policy Community Fellow! Thanks to McMaster University’s Fellowship program, The Well has been able to further engage youth and families to support system transformation of our rural youth pathways for mental and substance health. This project focused on rural engagement policies, best-practices and quality improvement of our evaluation practices. Thank you Public Engagement team for supporting our transformational work.

Collaborating with Haliburton County YWHO (Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario)
Learning from YWHO Sites
Teegan McGavin, Youth Engagement Co-Lead and Shannon McGavin, ED, spent the afternoon with Marg Cox, ED of the Haliburton County Youth Wellness Hub. The team toured the youth hub, asked questions and learned how to support youth in need. Marg was instrumental as The Well works to provide youth in Huron, Perth, Grey and Bruce Counties with 1 door to multiple mental, primary and substance health services, recreational, educational and employment services.

Reba Oldridge, Youth Engagement Co-Lead and Shannon McGavin, ED, presented at The Frayme Learning Institute in Vancouver. In collaboration with The Grove, the team focused on community collaboration, engagement and communication to enhance system transformation.

Grey Bruce Community Stakeholder Engagement
Community Engagement
Working with over 50 youth-serving organizations across Grey and Bruce counties to coordinate efforts as we develop Integrated Youth Services.

Integrated Youth Service Knowledge Exchange
The Well CC lead a Knowledge Exchange Webinar to highlight Integrated Youth Service Hubs and the value they will bring to our local communities. This webinar was lead by Shannon McGavin, ED of The Well and attended by Dr. Jo Henderson from Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario, Cyndy Dearden, ED of The Grove Hubs in Wellington Guelph and David Willis, ED of Keystone Child and Family Services, Owen Sound.
